root beer

S
wiggin' stuff, homemade sass'prilla as it were, some brown sugar root beer.

These bottles are sitting near the heater to keep somewhere between 64 and 80 degrees F.

They are not ready yet. We will keep you posted. Remember, I made Ginger Beer a couple of times before, to much acclaim.

You must stay in the kitchen most of the time! I know you get out some since we've seen videos and pictures, but you do a lot of cooking!

That looks very cool! How long do they take to get ready?

That actually has some alcohol in it, doesn't it? Never made it my self- tried beer, and ended up with 5 gallons of malt vingar...

I love sarsaparilla. Hard to find on the east coast. Have you ever tried birch beer? Another excellent beverage.

The Blonde Duck said...

Is there anything you won't try?

Christo Gonzales said...

marjie: there is some pennsylvannia brand of birch beer that I can find every now and again

TBD: no bungee jumping for me...

I served root beer floats for dessert the other day to 20 guests and you would have thought I had given them all a youth elixir! Everyone was happily nostalgiclly surprised.

Jeanne Estridge said...

You do know that you can buy this stuff, right? Ready made?

Christo Gonzales said...

jill: there is something about the rootbeer float - it is a comfort food.

jeanne: you can say that about all kinds of things - its the process we like.

I read about making root beer in Saveur a couple years ago. Sounds great. Can't wait to hear how delicious yours is.

Maggie said...

Homemade root beer floats, mmmmmm!! Are you making ice cream next?

Joy said...

I suspected that about the cooking! ;-)

No, not Bernice moments with the cryptic comments. I probably think you can read my mind since you often do.

Joy said...

And my follow-up comments generally carry on what we've already written to each other without regard to all the other comments you are also responding to. Or maybe I know how well you multi-task. Yeah, that's it.

Have ADD? Yes, I do.
