grease
This time of year humans living in colder climates typically tap into their larder. Larder, it's just like the name implies, the place for lard. Fat baby. Time to eat fat because if you eat fat in the winter you will survive.Well I live in NYC so I turn to homemade potato chips. Greasy, hot and full of potato flavor just like the larder intended.
You can get all exotic and add ranch dressing powder or any of those other powdered flavors to give your chips a more store bought effect if you want to, we do.

Nice! You know I like me a homemade chip. With dill!
Holy crap. Yum.
How do you cut them so thin?
I'll make the dip....Firing up food processor today for scalloped- I have a thinner cutting attachment that would work for those....
kitt: dill - mmmmmm that sounds pretty good
TBD: you said that right!
jeanne: magical secret....oh ok I'll tell you - I use a mandoline
buff: ooooh yeah, make a clam dip...
I love potato chips. We don't have any. I don't fry foods. Now I'm hungry.
mmmmm!! I made french fries this weekend. With Old Bay. I dig the ranch idea!
I am not a big potato chip fan...but I must say these look great...so rustic.
I'm with Anette! I love salt and vinegar flavored potato chips, especially when they're crispy like these. Yum! Happy winter.
larder is actually a storage place, like a pantry
marjie: I make these every so often-they are a nice treat
tavolini: I should own stock in old bay
harmony: its different when you make em' yourself...
hillary: you have the right idea
anonymous: thats right, the place where I keep my lard
these look awesome!!! I love when people make homemade versions of things most people buy.
