one trick pony
Ever feel like a one trick pony? You know - all you know how to do is butter toast - kind of thing? Thats how I feel about eggs except this pony can trick these bad boys all the way to Sunday. I am of the belief that if you cant cook eggs then you probably cant cook much since eggs, either as is or included, are the foundation for most dishes.
To pass the test you need to cook eggs and they need to pass muster, not some dry, mealy old scramble or some too brown omelete will do.
These little poachers are on a nicely seasoned crab cake surrounded by a toasted corn pico de gallo blanketed by a warm hollandaise and chile drizzle. Say that three times with a mouthful!
I borrowed bananas older version of my camera and hers is way better. Mine is the EX-S10 at 10 mega pixels and hers is the EX-Z60 at 6 but it blows mine out of the water in its optical capablities.
I did order a new battery (these cameras take a special little square rechargeable) and it should be here in a couple of days, if this isnt the solution I will be so upset.

That is one fine poached egg! And, everything on the plate looks fantastic. Crab cake with corn pico. This is delicious stuff.
I would eat that tricky egg every day. Poached eggs are a beautiful work in themselves, but coupled with that salsa and I'm in heaven!
Crab cakes, too? I'll take two orders, please ;)
Wow crab cakes and poached eggs! Awesome combo! Makes me drool!
And hope you get your battery soon!
funny you did eggs...I posted all egg dishes on my blog today too!
:-)
I love the look of yours. Nothing basic about it. Layers of flavor!
The photos are neatly shot!
A picture of a poached egg, cut open with the yolk spilling out, is always beautiful. Nice looking recipe too!
Though I am a pure veg foodie this pic attracts a lot.. awesome colors and nice click too.. :)
I'm kind of a one trick pony with pasta.
Where in NYC do you live? The vegan kosher meal sounds tempting! We are there so often that sometimes I think we should move there.
Oh my... you cannot imagine how much I love eggs-- we are crazy for them at my house. I am definitely making this recipe, soon!! They look gorgeous, and so delicious! What a perfect combination! We love our crab, too! Sorry to hear about your camera-- so frustrating! These photos are beautiful. :) K
Truly, truly beautiful eggs. The pony should be very proud of himself.

Look at all the colors surrounding that egg and crab cake. I wish I had some right now and it's lunch time over here, too.
One trick or two, these look tasty!
Yum Yum. I'm going to dinner tonight with my best girl friend trying hard to be good so I can really. Now I'm straving looking at that.
Having never poached an egg, we are already impressed. But the fact that you've combined egg with crab cakes is even better! So different. So yummy.
You passed the test with flying colors!! Sweet bliss, that is heaven, especially with that crab cake hiding under there.
Excellent eggs. I'm lucky to get one picture before the food is devoured. It's the price I pay for feeding so many starving souls!
That looks mouth watering! I never thought of putting an egg on a crab cake, but damn, you make it look so good!
I can't believe it how that plate looks like a meadow full of flowers!
did someone on here say they never poached an egg? wow
stellar photo dog!
NOW, this is breakfast.
I followed Jill's link and she's right, mean man indeed. I always say eggs are the perfect food and you have exalted them beyond perfection.
*drooling*
That sure beats the pants off the plain scrambled egg whites I had for breakfast this morning! Yum! I will be thinking of these as I polish off my morning bowl of uckyness...
I think maybe I fail the egg test. My poached and scrambled eggs turn out OK, but my omelets are erratic. Maybe there's hope.
The photos are fantastic and that dish looks wonderful! You have a gift!!!
I must remember to get my camera out when I go out to eat and take some pictures. Yesterday would have been a good time to do it. I described the meal on my blog yesterday but no pics.
Hey! I just noticed no raw onions in that! Even better than I first thought!
I never get tired of poached eggs. that one is so beautiful with all the colors in the salsa!
My dads favorite sunday morning breakfast was poached eggs on toast, or in a egg holder thingy with a small hole on the top of the shell so we could dip our toast strips. Yum Yum
Yours looks beyond fantastic!
wow thats really colorful and looks damn good. and roasted corn salsa i love that.. pass that plate.
Oh wow you poach the egg to perfection. Well done!
Hang in there nice eggs...
high five with the poached egg love! we must be sharing some kind of telepathy!
Oh, yum! A lovely poached egg with the delicious crab cake! Love this!
I love the combo of flavors and textures you've got going there.
I noticed right away that these photos were crisper and brighter.....really nice. I never understood that mega pixel stuff.
Your eggs are so nice, like a painting. I eat eggs everyday, and by now know how to cook them!
Great combination eggs and pico de gallo Yeah!
Ah, it's one of those batteries (guess my suggestion made you snigger)... Poached eggs are my favorite, I could eat them every day! These look awesome :)
Good luck with the camera - and I'll take an order of those tasty looking crab cakes please :)
Oh man, that runny yolk is killing me. Wouldn't have thought to pair a poached egg with crab cakes, but nearly 11 pm and my mouth is watering - yum!
You have no idea what that dish is doing to me - it literally has all of my favorite ingredients and flavors. I can't wait to make it! Great photos.
This is the best looking bfast recipe I've seen in a while! Very beautiful presentation!
Poached Eggs oh my with the corn and greens I just wanna eat that for the past few days I have only been eating tasteless food, pics are making me happy!!! slurrrp!!!
This is AWESOME! Love everything in this dish esp the leaking egg.
This is absolutely gorgeous. I love eggs any way you serve them, but this is over the top beautiful.
