dying camera

The never ending saga of my life. I beat hell out of my cameras. As you recall, this happened, and then a year later this happened and now its happening again. These are good cameras I just use the heck out of them and I used the heck out of another one. This time I am thinking and hoping its only the battery so a battery is on order and the waiting begins. The dilemna here is I am on this never ending treadmill of warranties because ironically enough it happens before a year is up - go figure!

I hope my old camera never breaks, because I hate learning new technology.
I have the same old cell phone for years....I am resisting!

Awww....sorry about that! We try to take care of our camera system too... well hubby does cause it's his! He's frantic about it so I don't touch it! I'd like to get me another camera soon...any recommendations?

You need to be more careful with your camera's Doggy. Either way - you are an awesome photographer.

I cannot believe you are, yet again having camera troubles. That goodness for the warranties.

Not that it's good that this happens to you, but it's good that it happens while the warranty's still good. The never-ending saga of MY life is that everything breaks down a week after the warranty has expired.

Is it stuck in the "open" position like that? My last camera ran the warranty gamut (sp?)...I think 7 times or so. One day I realized it was the batteries. It sucks the life out of regular ones, won't accept Duracel (even the digital ones)...but if I give it the Energizer 8x Digital-type...it goes back to working like a charm...go figure. May be something entirely different, but thought I'd suggest it. Good luck.

That totally sucks. I had my Sony Digital for four years, and it still worked pretty good, except at night. Even with light it would NOT take pictures. I got one for Christmas, and Sony Sure Shot or something like that and it worked for one month.

I now have a Canon and I LOVE it!

I had to buy a kodak rechargeable battery for my newest camera to get it to not eat batteries. That said, I never let my kids near my cameras, because they beat the hell out of everything. That will change when they have to work for a living, I think. Me, I keep everything forever. Last cell i got was about 4 years ago, the one before that was 6 or 7 years earlier. I hate change. Hope your camera woes are solved soon.

I have an exilim too! Got it 4 yrs ago and still working fine. Had some probs while ago, it overexposed everything, but healed itself eventually =P

I've dropped my new camera a couple times and so far, so good. It's the camera my hubby got me for christmas so I'm being careful now. I have learned to use the wrist strap; I wear it all the time now when photographing and I must say it truly helps.

There are new cameras I lust after, but my Canon just continues to work fine.... I admit I don't use a lot of the available features!

Aww sorry to hear about that! Hope you get it fixed soon. Your shots are really amazing! Anyway consider yourself lucky that the warranty period wasnt expired. As for me everything seems to go wrong after the expiration of warranty period!

Sorry to hear about your camera. I, too, hope that it only the battery. That would suck if it ends up being the camera itself. *crossing fingers that it's not*
