scallop gallop
Trot on over and pick up a bowl of this goodness. I used up all the scallops that were whole and then I tossed the bits and pieces into this fried rice.
Let me tell you that scallop fried rice is unlike any other, shrimp is good, pork is fine and so is chicken but to bite into plump little bites of scallop - oh yeah!
I will definitely buy 'bottom of the barrel' scallops any ol' time I find em' because tossed into some rice like this they steal the show!
I had a few questions as to what the red spice was that was around the plate of the other scallop dishes - well its none other than good old New Mexico red chile - if you are talking about the orange stuff thats roe.

Love the double scallop post, both here and at Donna's place. Such great pictures and love the recipes!
The guest posting thing makes my favorite blogging world feel just like a neighborhood. Good stuff, and ooh la la, as usual, from Donna.
I'm all about the Asian cuisine..
Wow, scallop fried rice, how luxurious!
Don't think i've had scallops in fried rice, yet. It's always been shrimp. Nice way to use up the leftover bits.
really really cool photo, with the chopstick perspective. very cool. you are cool. i like your food.
Super cool pic. lovely angle.. :)
These pics are awesome. Love the post at Donna's, as well.
Great pics and great dish - I've never thought to use scallops in fried rice but it sounds quite tasty!

Thanks so much for posting on my blog and drawing my attention to yours! I've been reading Donna's blog for awhile--love that you asked her to guest post. I'm having a lot of fun scrolling through your archives and seeing what you've been up to!
That fried rice looks so perfect cooked, not too dry, not too moist. And the plump, bouncy scallop makes it look scrumptios indeed.
That fried rice looks mighty nice--fluffy eggs and plump scallops YUM.
....trotting.... yum!
Good idea with the scallops in that dish! On sale here this week, and I gotta get some!
stacey: I wish I always have left over scallops

Fried rice sounds delightful. As always great pictures! Sometimes I don't know what amazes me more, the food or the picture.
nice job on these photographs!!!
I love fried rice - using scallops in it is a fantastic idea. YUM!
Yes, I'd take the bottom of the barrel scallops served like that, too!
Mourning the fact that my comment has so many misspelled words ...
Ohhh that looks awesome! Scallops in fried rice. What more could I ask for?
Fried rice just got an upgrade - this looks so fresh and delicious! Perfect!
Fried rice, but of course! Toss in some pineapple next time. It's good and sweet.
Hey! Will you stop by Thursday for HNT?
Thanks
Ok, shrimp fried rice is my all-time comfort food, but that could easily be changed to scallop fried rice. Looks great!
Oh scallops in fried rice...I love how you left the big and whole. I hate when fried rice becomes a hodge-podge and bits of this and that. I like to bit into something and have the flavor explode!
I've never had a scallop fried rice dish before! I guess this won't make the $4 per dish mark! But WHOLE scallops...oh my, talk about decadence! Love!
fried rice and scallops...yummy!
Scallops in rice? Genious! I'd love to dig into this about now!
Yum! Nice way to fancy-up fried rice!

Fried rice with scallop, yummmm.... it must be very delicious! :)
I feel like I need to run out and get some scallops right away! Yum! Thanks for the answer on the New Mexico red chile spice!
2 in a row scallop posts! I think they are my fav seafood, cooked any which way as long as not too long. Your fan club is growing by leaps and bounds- pretty soon you'll be in the double digit comments!! There's good reason for that.

Impressed with your yummy looking fried rice, especially it's with my favourite scallops.
I always use dried scallops in fried rice, nvr tried fresh ones in fried rice before. Sure looks tasty!
i've never quite been able to fully enjoy and appreciate the taste and texture of scallops, which is quite a shame, is it not? this looks like a lovely dish for the scallop-lover though. :)
I have some scallops in the freezer I might use for this! I love your blog!
OMG, this looks amazingly delicious. I don't eat very much seafood, it's hard to trust the quality of it here in the desert Southwest. BUT, I am going to look for some scallops and try your recipe with the fried rice. Hm..I can taste it now. I love the title of your post...Scallop Gallop. Clever guy.
