scallop gallop

T
rot on over and pick up a bowl of this goodness. I used up all the scallops that were whole and then I tossed the bits and pieces into this fried rice.

Let me tell you that scallop fried rice is unlike any other, shrimp is good, pork is fine and so is chicken but to bite into plump little bites of scallop - oh yeah!

I will definitely buy 'bottom of the barrel' scallops any ol' time I find em' because tossed into some rice like this they steal the show!

I had a few questions as to what the red spice was that was around the plate of the other scallop dishes - well its none other than good old New Mexico red chile - if you are talking about the orange stuff thats roe.

Love the double scallop post, both here and at Donna's place. Such great pictures and love the recipes!

The guest posting thing makes my favorite blogging world feel just like a neighborhood. Good stuff, and ooh la la, as usual, from Donna.

Just telling it like it is said...

Don't think i've had scallops in fried rice, yet. It's always been shrimp. Nice way to use up the leftover bits.

kenny: I know, it tasted so good too

jenn: scallop bits, scallop nibbles - no matter - it kicked up this rice

christina kim: thank you so very much - that makes me so happy

nithya: thanks - I wanted it to look like you could pick up the sticks and eat

denise: after a little confusion donna and I figured it out - sorta

hornsfan: 'quite tasty' is right...

That fried rice looks so perfect cooked, not too dry, not too moist. And the plump, bouncy scallop makes it look scrumptios indeed.

Ok, shrimp fried rice is my all-time comfort food, but that could easily be changed to scallop fried rice. Looks great!

Oh scallops in fried rice...I love how you left the big and whole. I hate when fried rice becomes a hodge-podge and bits of this and that. I like to bit into something and have the flavor explode!

I've never had a scallop fried rice dish before! I guess this won't make the $4 per dish mark! But WHOLE scallops...oh my, talk about decadence! Love!

i've never quite been able to fully enjoy and appreciate the taste and texture of scallops, which is quite a shame, is it not? this looks like a lovely dish for the scallop-lover though. :)

OMG, this looks amazingly delicious. I don't eat very much seafood, it's hard to trust the quality of it here in the desert Southwest. BUT, I am going to look for some scallops and try your recipe with the fried rice. Hm..I can taste it now. I love the title of your post...Scallop Gallop. Clever guy.
