one trick pony

E
ver feel like a one trick pony? You know - all you know how to do is butter toast - kind of thing? Thats how I feel about eggs except this pony can trick these bad boys all the way to Sunday. I am of the belief that if you cant cook eggs then you probably cant cook much since eggs, either as is or included, are the foundation for most dishes.

To pass the test you need to cook eggs and they need to pass muster, not some dry, mealy old scramble or some too brown omelete will do.

These little poachers are on a nicely seasoned crab cake surrounded by a toasted corn pico de gallo blanketed by a warm hollandaise and chile drizzle. Say that three times with a mouthful!

I borrowed bananas older version of my camera and hers is way better. Mine is the EX-S10 at 10 mega pixels and hers is the EX-Z60 at 6 but it blows mine out of the water in its optical capablities.

I did order a new battery (these cameras take a special little square rechargeable) and it should be here in a couple of days, if this isnt the solution I will be so upset.

That is one fine poached egg! And, everything on the plate looks fantastic. Crab cake with corn pico. This is delicious stuff.

I would eat that tricky egg every day. Poached eggs are a beautiful work in themselves, but coupled with that salsa and I'm in heaven!

Crab cakes, too? I'll take two orders, please ;)

A picture of a poached egg, cut open with the yolk spilling out, is always beautiful. Nice looking recipe too!

I'm kind of a one trick pony with pasta.

Where in NYC do you live? The vegan kosher meal sounds tempting! We are there so often that sometimes I think we should move there.

Yum Yum. I'm going to dinner tonight with my best girl friend trying hard to be good so I can really. Now I'm straving looking at that.

Having never poached an egg, we are already impressed. But the fact that you've combined egg with crab cakes is even better! So different. So yummy.

You passed the test with flying colors!! Sweet bliss, that is heaven, especially with that crab cake hiding under there.

Excellent eggs. I'm lucky to get one picture before the food is devoured. It's the price I pay for feeding so many starving souls!

That sure beats the pants off the plain scrambled egg whites I had for breakfast this morning! Yum! I will be thinking of these as I polish off my morning bowl of uckyness...

I think maybe I fail the egg test. My poached and scrambled eggs turn out OK, but my omelets are erratic. Maybe there's hope.

The photos are fantastic and that dish looks wonderful! You have a gift!!!

I must remember to get my camera out when I go out to eat and take some pictures. Yesterday would have been a good time to do it. I described the meal on my blog yesterday but no pics.

Hey! I just noticed no raw onions in that! Even better than I first thought!

My dads favorite sunday morning breakfast was poached eggs on toast, or in a egg holder thingy with a small hole on the top of the shell so we could dip our toast strips. Yum Yum

Yours looks beyond fantastic!

Your eggs are so nice, like a painting. I eat eggs everyday, and by now know how to cook them!
