bat out of hell

D
id you think 'meatloaf' the minute you heard that? I know I did. When you are busy and crazy but you have a quick 40 minutes, make a meatloaf - the leftovers are great!

I wasn't so quick at the association, since neither meatloaf the band or meatloaf the dish is very common subjects to me. But what i thought was: Thats one FINE sandwich!

Well familiar with both! Actually saw him in concert once!

oh man....the only meatloaf I've ever had was my mom's and it was greasy....eewwwww. I do not like meatloaf. Isn't it funny?...if you have something that's really BAD, it sticks with you forever, and you never want to eat it again, no matter WHO makes it!!!

I did think Meatloaf, instantly. My aunt LOVES Meatloaf--whenever she babysat, we listened to him.

Now--for the actual loaf--I never really liked it much. Even with ketchup. Mom made it a lot, but those nights I would focus on eating the canned green beans ;)

We love the loaf here in this house.

...or you could just sing really loud while you scarf down a peanut butter sandwich!

anette: it is tasty, especially on toasted bread

buff: that must've been a good concert

beth: break out of those confining opinions - you KNOW I make it good.

tavolini: I hated it as a kid but I made this with moroccan inspired flavors...

mickt-t: and I bet the loaf loves you!

marjie: that would sound funny, a mouth full of peanut butter and a screechy song...

I am with Beth, my mom's meatloaf had chunks of greasy peppers and onions and a sauce that just did not taste good, and turned me off...

Dog- I knew right away what you were going to associate, with out even realizing there was meatloaf on that sandwich...hope it had some capsicums in or on there somewhere...

I got it! Duh! Took me a minute. I saw a nasty meatloaf recipe in a magazine when I was running on the treadmill this morning at the gym. There was no MEAT! Just veggies. How is that meatloaf?

chef e: nothing funky in my loaf...only goodness.

stacey: goodone!

TBD: I dont know what you call meatloaf without meat....

I think a meatless meatloaf is a Boca-loaf just like the non-brand name for Clorax which should be bleach except that there's no such thing as non-Clorax bleach and, likewise, the non-brand name for Coke which should be cola except again, no non-Coke cola.

ap: its clorox for starters and I know there are boca burgers but do they make a loaf?

I did think meatloaf...and I agree one meatloaf can go a long way....and nothing is better than left over meatloaf sandwiches. I guess the trick is, to find a recipe with ingredients you like in it.
