Anette over at Krakilette is hosting this months culinary smackdown and she chose chocolate and while that might sound simple enough sometimes the easy sounding things are the most difficult.
I thought about all kinds of complicated chocolate goodies I could make. I was molecularly gastronimizing myself all over the culinary planet and when it all boiled right down I went for simple.
I made vanilla mousse and chocolate mouse and layered it in a nice little trifle with blackberries and a generous amount of chocolate syrup, it got the job done. This is my entry for the Culinary Smackdown - battle chocolate.

If you're a chocolate lover, I'm sure that this is a winner. I could go without the chocolate syrup though.. The chocolate mousse would be enough for me. It looks Berry good.
Love the last pic. All those layers....
a little bit of blackberries makes this rich dessert...mellows out the chocolate....I wouldn't take out anything....love it just the way it is!
How gorgeous and tempting this looks. Love the blackberries with the mousses. Great entry, Dog!
I'm pretty sure you just can't go wrong with mousse. It's delicious in all of its simplicity.
Excuse me, mind yourself while you are molecularly gastronimizing yourself all over the culinary planet, I don't want to get any on me!!!
Looks great, as usual. I wanted to be in this throwdown but it sneaked up on me and until I read your post thought the deadline was next weekend for some reason. OH well, I need chocolate like a hole in the head.
Although I certainly would eat and DO LOVE your entry, I am a chocolate purist and love it by itself in it's many forms. Excellent entry and photography, as usual, Doggy!
Oh, that just looks amazing. I adore blackberries. Yummmmm.

What is it about layers that is so enticing? Because you can smush it all up and simply eat carefully- layer by layer? Love the berries in it. Dreaming of a scoopnow.
Nice! Come over and have a look at the entries, and the winner!
nice dog. perfect layers of yumminess. love that last pic!
WOW!! How yummy and delicious!
YUM! I could go for one of those right now! No blackberries in the house!
I think your pictures will actually make food taste better. I am so jealous.
