too hot

The heat has limited my efforts as of late so as a result there has not been much cooking. Simple things like bread and cheese abound. I did throw together some bay scallops in a spicy cream sauce for bread dipping, though.

Ooey gooey goodness

We drink a lot of water, a ton of fruit smoothies and we go to the pool - how do you stay cool?

Most days I'm at work in A/C during the hottest hours, which most cooking and dog-walking takes place late at night when it's much more pleasant. The swamp cooler keeps the dog comfy at home.

Bread dipping sounds good.. We drink lots of water too, and stay inside out of the heat. The heat peaks between 5 & 6 PM then starts cooling off around 8ish. I then hope a little breeze will come up so that I can sit out on the patio and read a book. Weekends we try and take a drive to the river or head for the mountains where its a little cooler and shady..

kitt: thats when work aint so bad-right?

shreya: dang I'm gonna take some cues from you - we make horchata but you live it up with the flavored waters

anndi: excessive amounts of ice...I had an ice bill before I got a freezer big enough...LOL

michelle: you sound so pleasant. NYC doesnt have a cooling off period - if its hot its hot and vice versa.

michelle makes the darn-dest things if you havent been over there to check em out yet.

I've got air conditioning, ceiling fans, cross breezes and the community pool. But I prefer heat to cool. So I hit the steam room and Jacuzzi even in Los Angeles heat
