hello august first

After I was tweeted, retweeted, twarted and twerped between the spams and the trojans I was malwared, friended, blocked, spam friended, unfriended and porned while being followed - and that all happened at once. When that excitement settled down and my friends were finished doing the 'I told you so' about viruses and being nice to people I was days behind in any kind of food fest. Food fest free we spent these past couple of days and I am here to tell you that food fest free is kinda' ok.

After the Food Free Fest was over we had some cornbread. Why cornbread; why for butter, of course, and if you want then have some coffee and smear some jam.

After the cornbread we had some dumplings, I had to mow the lawn to get some garnish...just kidding its green onion!

After that we fried up frog legs.

After the frog we ate some blue crab but that was too messy to mess with on camera.

After we cleaned up from crabbin'out we had some fried catfish with a watercress and cucumber salad.

After that the kitchen smelled homey greasy and hot, bellies were full and normal activity resumed - Food Free Fest was over, for a while at least, I hope it will be sometime before we have another fest thats food free, or whatever!

My dad ate frog legs at a restaurant once when I was a kid. I've never tried them.

Glad your computer mess is a thing of the past!

Love your blog badge! I think I'll grab it for my blog.

The froglegs... how do they taste?
The food party you had! Beautiful photos of beautiful food!

Welcome back! Love the cornbread. It's always better in a cast iron skillet. And frog legs: my only comments is that maybe it's just the camera angle, but that looks like one big frog. The kind I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. Though I suppose if I did, I could just threaten it with some panko and olive oil.

Geez, frog legs always remind me of my Boston Terrier stretched out on his tummy! But these fried ones look scrumptious! All of it looks so yummy! Glad the computer mess-up is finally over and you are back in business.

Holy crap, that all looks wicked good. I've never had frog legs, my dad likes them but could never convince us to try them as kids.

You got back into it with a vengence and a raging appetite. We're glad!

That is a lot of yummy food. I would've tucked the cornbread away in a napkin in my bag.

Wow.. the leg frog looks huge compared to our skinny frogs :D

I have an award for you in my blog :)

I want some of the dumplings... with the lawn cuttings.

I remember as a kid how hard it was to cook "fresh" froglegs, they were jumping out of the pan, really.

I want some dumplings, please. And, the frog legs look great!

I adore frog legs. Too bad most people aren't as crazy about them as I am. Glad to see you back in the kitchen.

I have never tried frog legs...want to, though. They looks kinda pornographic themselves. Yummy feast to go un-food free/1? Still want those dumplings...

um, yeah...I have no idea what those extra symbols are doing in the middle of my words...sheesh.

Your corn bread looks a little green. I hope that was your lighting. One of my daughters swears corn bread is her very favorite bread in the world, so I make it often. I think it's a great definition for comfort food. Hope no one else forwards you nasty uglies.

LOL @ girlichef...I was thinking the same thing. wondering why there were a couple of "cheeks" and a pair of legs in the frying pan! HAHAHA

Love me some cornbread! (allergic to fish...looks good but I'll have to take your word on it)

Everything looks so yummy. The frog legs look like they might hop away if you wait too long to eat. Your dumplings look awesome! Better than takeout.

I know what you mean. I hate all the junk I received: porn spam, you name it.

I love dim sum

Nice dishes! I've only tried frog legs once, never made it at home. Gotta go to Wegmans and get some blue crabs - they have a special sale only on Sundays.

I've never seen frogs legs fried up like this!

Everything looks tasty, although I don't think I could try the frog legs. It's good to see you back to blogging.

Happy August. Ribbit Ribbit.

What a beautiful spread. I don't think I can do the frog legs though. I can't even eat chicken legs. It is something that happened to me while taking anatomy. You don't want to know...

I have had enough with virus attacks! Had to format my system twice in the past few months! Hope you got yours fixed. Wow all the dishes look fantastic. The corn bread, dumplings, catfish are lip-smacking! I have never had frog before but I believe they would have tasted great! I love crab a lot and yeah you are right..sometimes they turn out unphotogenic!

Are you becoming Southern? Not if you put sugar in your cornbread. Do you? Otherwise, Southern cooking abounds!
