a day at the museum

'Member when I told you we were going to the museum but we didnt? We finally went. We went the first time too. We went to the very expensive museum with our coveted gift of a free pass for the month. When we got there one Friday afternoon it was 'free' day so our pass was useless, we left after shopping in the Museum Store, or whatever its called - no way were we going to go in with the 'masses' on a 'free' day. We waited two more weeks until it fit back in the schedule and we went today, not a 'free' day but definitely a 'Saturday.' I hate being so jaded. Then I get to thinking - what if one day I pull an Elvis or a Michael Jackson or a whoever - who is that kid from the joker - lief or something , you know a 'dj Am' kind of wake up call. Best to go to the museum when you can because you definitely cant go when you cant.

Its two minutes - have a looky look!

Loons? Not you, the bird noise in the background! I actually enjoy museums, and always seem to go to at least one, when traveling!

Thanks for the virtual tour! I've only been to NY once. We went to to see Les Miserables. Next time I'd love to spend more time and check out a museum or two. On free day....

Was that Frieda and Banana? I didn't think you could bring cameras into museums...or was it a covert mission? I love Starry Night...and that awesome guitar on the wall!

selba: yup the starry night painting has always been one of my favorites

anette: thanks -just being silly

buffalo: loons - yup both the music and the people at the museum - I have seen and been to so many I lose track - I was an art history major in college

melody: the Met is close to free daily all they ask for is a donation

girli: strategically placed mirror

jamie: it was the rothkos that lead me to the giacomettis - thats when it got 'loony'

Loved it! Nothing like enjoying a Saturday at a museum in NYC. Thanks for sharing.

I love museums. I tend to get some inspiration from works of art sometimes.

Thanks for taking us along in your visit.

Funny, Starry Night is the first painting my boys will be studying in their art course this year. The loons would have made me loony. I can't stand repetitious noise, but that's why there's a "mute" button! Nice virtual tour.

I'm reading a book about New Amsterdam this weekend. It's amazing.

Oh, and don't go pull an Elvis or Michael Jackson on us. It's a depressing thought.

How very cool! Thanks so much for sharing with those of us who don't live close to the City!

Hey, can't you get in trouble for filming in an Art Museum? If I want to go to a museum, my husband and I take the day off from work and go, so that we can do it leisurely without crowds. We're not big on other people being around on our time.

velva: I am not a spring chicken- I have seen most if not all of this stuff a few times - I still like it though

jenn: I pick up on technique and substrates - like for example painting over foil.

nora: better git' on gettin'

marjie: I wrote most of my college art papers on Van Gogh - I thought the loons best represented the jabber I heard every where I went...It wasnt a rainy day either

jeanne: I am glad I could oblige - I mean heck you took us past the swingers place in your town...priceless in my book.

diane: trouble - dont know - I dont even get in trouble for getting way too close...even after someone else just got in trouble for doing the same thing....go figure!
