Soupy rice never sounded so good. The whole idea of mushy rice always sang the tune of 'cooked wrong' until I discovered congee. My first experience with this was about 10 years ago when I worked with these two guys who would bring it from home and it looked so good I bought some in a can. The canned version is not bad but they did laugh at me telling me it was so easy to make and I should make the good stuff. I eventually learned how and life has never been the same since. I made this with octopus and wild mushrooms with fresh ginger. It was more soupy but by the time I got around to taking the picture it was a little more dense. Remember this place, it has some of the best congee, I recommend all of them.
