grillin' without a license

O
k busted, but I do have a Permit, bah dum dum. I finally got around to hookin' that baby up and I need to tell you - its good.

The texture is firm the flavor is mild and, get this, citrusy, yeah you heard that right - this fish has a slight lemon tang to it that is very pleasant. I am glad I took the chance on this fish, it was unusual for the market and I rather doubt I will see it again, it tastes like chicken!

Criss cross fish (I know I said I didnt want to grill it but I couldnt come up with anything better) a little sweet potato, a little pea puree, a drizzle swirl of acacia truffle honey and all hands have been dealt.

Just telling it like it is said...

I thought for sure at first you went fishing...
then I remembered you are in NY no need to fish right?

Awesome hatch pattern on the fish! You're making me jealous that you got to grill out tonight. The fish looks awesome.

This dish looks very delicious!

We've been waiting for Permit. (I skip the "the" because I like to think of him as Permit Petterson) Was the texture like red fish? kind of meaty?

kennyT: silver pomfret? I need to look that up..I bet you are right

anette: Permit Petterson from Oslo? the texture was like tender chicken breast..

I've never served fish with sweet potato. I might have to give this a whirl.

Ocean fish always seem to be firmer than fresh water fish.. I guess it's because of the currents and tides...Looked good!

Great use of truffle honey. Must have been delish with the carrots too! The fish looks amazing, but I know I won't find Permit here.

sarah: thanks for stopping by...

ramya: I really hope to get this fish again

TK: dont worry the permit only has eyes for other permits

marjie: the sweetness of the potato contrasted nicely with the pea puree

jeff: he did have an honorable discharge...

buff: this fish was not like any fish I have had before - it wasnt cheap - this one fish was 8 bucks

lisaiscooking: the truffle honey blows the truffle oils right out of the ballpark

Citrusy fish that tastes like chicken? Now we're talking. This looks incredible, doggy. Also, I loved your intro. Funny!

I truly believe that fish, just about all kinds, should be grilled on the grill. I mean it just cooks perfectly you know? Well, obviously you know. Looks good Dog!

doggybloggy said...

TBD: did he wink?

mikky: indeed it was

diva: this fish is unlike any other fish - I can emphasize that enough

dawn: grilled is the answer for sure...

We like him better when he's not looking us dead in the eye. Hmm, is that a pun? The final drizzle of truffle honey is niiiiice.
