con todo

C
on todo, thats all the spanish you need to know when you go to the taco trucks in Jackson Heights, Queens.

All the tacos are two bucks and 'con todo' which means 'with everything' includes guacamole, onions and cilantro; you can add additional hot sauce either red or green or both and there are little tubs of sliced radish and jalapeno for nibbling on the side.

I get carnitas, which is like pulled pork, lengua, which is tongue and cecina, which is salty beef and a soda.

Seven bucks later I am stuffed to the gills.

We can them roach coaches out here and man do I miss them. Greatest part about my previous job was there was one that would be in the parking lot everday at lunch and dinner time. They did a killing and it was so cheap.

Now if I don't bring in leftovers I am stuck eating in the world's worst cafeteria.

I will take a couple lenguas and a couple carnitas please. ohh...and the green hot sauce please.

TBD: there is a mild freak out going on here but not too bad

patty: bring it on bring it on...

ramya: I would worry more about door handles than pork...

jeff: we have others that are roach coaches and purveyors of mystery meat but the taco trucks stand alone-

oneshot: we must belong to the same club....

snugs: you need to be a 'one man' crusade on educating about the perils of pandemics

diva: una mas - and those babies will keep on coming

I love Call of the Wild and White Fang. I had a hard time reading the books - but the movies rocked. I liked White Fang better. I love the premise of the scary Cry Wolf movie. But I'm too chicken to watch it. Nightmares.

Those tacos are huge! I'd have a hard time eating more than one. You did a good job of invoking a taco craving. I feel desperate for one!!!!

There are folks who go to some of these spots and get their food 'con nada'. Ummm, hello! What's the point? We want it all.

marjie: it is good stuff - we go about twice a month at least

anette: this is year around stuff but I can see the summer look

reeni: depending on my hunger mood I will sometimes take the doubled up tortilla and turn it into two tacos...

duo: I know one of those (not banana)- she thinks she will get more meat that way but all she gets is the regular but without the goodies....it's funny actually -

jenn: the funny thing is these trucks line the streets that are surrounded by little store fronts that also sell tacos - its tacolandia

5 star: definitely off the beaten path - hard to find if you dont know your way around the buroughs

dawn: its enough to hold you over for a good few hours - at least!

I am woman, all woman! If I could find an IT man to tell me how to figure out how to add a picture to my little doo hickey then you would see I am woman. But I guess you are too busy running around eating tacos to assist. That is the second time this week I have been mistaken for a man, y'all are gonna give me a complex and drive me to do bad things :)

You might as well live where I do...the food is "lo mismo"

We have nothing like that.. I sure wish we did!

con todo is the only way to go when eating. They are huge, bigger the better.

Christo Gonzales said...

snugs: we're gonna fix that...

jill: suave!

BD: whats stopping you from opening up a taco truck?

donna: but can things ever be too big?
