what ever

How often I have thought of giving up the blog. Its the same as me giving up my journals. I just dont do it. The blog takes more energy. Why? I will tell you why. This is a journal that 'competes' with the other journals out there. Your journal, my journal, any journal is placed side by side with many other journals. Its the 'what if my journal sucks' deal. Many out there are very good at therapy talk and they spit it out like used gum. Many more are adept at the remedies and they spit those out like warm tea. Me, I like to live every moment like it was my last and then when that wasnt the case I wake up and do it again and again and again. I can hardly schedule anything let alone blog themes like Manic Mondays and whats on your agenda Wednesdays. Its too cute that people do this. I Like that they do. It isnt really a journal as much as it is a participation thing but thats good too. I think the only one I can swing is FCF...fully clothed fridays.....lets see if I can 'open up' enough.

Oh! You just reminded me that I missed my own Silly Kitchen Gadget Monday. Whoops.

I can't keep up with all the regular blog "events" that people participate in. How does anyone have the time?

I was thinking about that too--how the blog is the ultimate public journal. I feel like I know my favorite bloggers, and I've never met one of you.

I couldn't agree with Tavolini more....Dog, never give it up. You and I have been friends for a couple of years now, and I look forward to your perspective on things. You tell it like it is, no bullshitting with you...and I have to like it or...tough. I NEED that. Everyone needs a person like that in thier life.

And blogging is strange....you get the people who make a "job" out of it, and think about making money all the time...or how high is their blog ranked...or how many commenters they have. They respond to commentes one at a time, to make their numbers go up....stupid crap like that.

That's not what you're about. You love life, you love your kid and you love food....and you like to share those thoughts with other people. Ya, you're very reserved and "secretive"...we don't know a whole lot about your "personal" life, and that's ok too.

we all love you for who you are.

And I think I have to start taking part in "Silly Kitchen Gadget Monday"...sounds thrilling.

Memes are not my favey either. I'll participate if they strike my fancy, but my weirdness could fill a thousand books, so I'd rather not rely on a prompt to fill the content of my blog. It's cool if people want to do that, but I'd rather read something that came straight from THAT writer's brain. But that's just me. I used to have more memes than anything on my blog when I first started blogging, because I thought that was what a blog was supposed to be ... (I was a naive little grasshopper.) But then I realized that blogging is whatever the writer wants it to be. There really are no rules. That's the beauty of it.

I just blogrolled you btw. :)

This has been my outlet. I'm so happy that I have a vessel for the good memories with food & Meg. I'm glad you're out here & finally a NYC connection.

FCF? that's sounds interesting ;)

Sometimes I am at odds with my blog...is it a journal, a food site, a photography journal, a bitch outlet? I finally decided its all of it and with that, you get all of me, good, bad whatever. And when I have nothing to say...I post nothing. But, you fellow bloggers are often the highlight of my days. And when I need a word of encouragement, you all step up to the plate!

Keep posting Dog!

You just HAD to show those again, didn't ya. I want those so bad!

And Dog, I LOVE your blog. It's you, (well, the you I think this blog is anyway) and hell, my "journal" is nothing fancy, nothing interesting, but hey, it's what I like to do besides talking to my husband, kids, or my co-worker. And I SO looked forward to your posts.

mandi: its just that the blog seems to be like a child sometimes ...always needing something..

kitt: I love your silly gadget posts...

tavolini: its true it creates this feeling of familiarity...

beth: you nailed it...and thats what I like about you and your blog - you let it all hang out and thats so cool that you do that...I have always been one to jump up on stage and put on a show but when the show is over I am lurking from shadow to shadow...

morgy: your blog is one of the freshest things I read and like to read...

spin: I feel the same about you...I am not thinking of going away its that I get tired of it sometimes -thats all.

Deb: I was going to link you but you took down those posts...I too enjoy the outlet but like I said sometimes It seems to wear me out.

Michelle ann: I like the antics of you and craig and your 4 legged friends...

bina: funny thing is it is ME - I am this shallow and this simple...I couldnt change if I had to...LOL

We all live such fast paced busy lives its hard to keep up with everything going on around us. I am facinated with other peoples lives. Sometimes I get caught up in everything and think "Am I the only one here?" I love reading about people and how different we all are! It truly amazes me! I soak it all in; laughing and crying and getting creative idea's as I read.. It makes each part of the world a little bit closer to me. Don't give up!

You have to continue your blog. No one inspires me to want to cook the way you do. How will I be able to tell you if you go away? And it's all about me, you know! LOL

I too am a fan of your blog - everyday I drop by and enjoy your pics and your words - I hope none of them will be "the famous last ones..." Pls continue.. For me in tiny Denmark it is quite exotic to get a glance of the life of a new yorker... and somehow now I like new yorkers even better...

I enjoy blogging, but I think all of us think about quitting or at least taking a break once in awhile...Blogging has sharpened my old writing skills, taught me to get around on the computer better, and has gotten me to pick up my camera once in awhile!

Christo Gonzales said...

tavolini: I are poetic...LOL thanks that makes me happy...

michelle: that was well put...thats why I dont give up its the voyuer in me that keeps me going.

joy: ok enough inspiration now lets see some cooking...LOL

monica: Tiny Denmark and you call me exotic....if that isnt exotic then nothing is.

buff: blogging has made me more tolerant - I am typically a loner and this has exposed me to others in a way that I would have never had otherwise..

You and I have gathered some pretty special people that comment on our posts... Smarter than average, diverse, and interesting people! There may be more of us than we thought...

Joy said...

OK, I'll send a report when I do some real cooking. There is variety when I fix breakfast and actually take some time with it. That's one meal! LOL

Christo Gonzales said...

buffalo: that is true...I think thats the part that keeps me going...

joy: the proof is in the puddin' as they say....

I hope you'll continue the way you do it! I like the non-snobbish, down to earth way you write your blog and show us your photos. Refreshingly genuine!
