kid dog

Some of my greatest inspirations come from trying to entertain a kid with food and then my kid kicks in with his own. Remember the strawberry peanut butter sandwich? Well this is its cousin the 'banana dog'. Peanut butter, whole banana, honey and cinnamon on a hot dog bun.

He made the first one with sliced banana but decided whole was better.

For sure T.K. YOU know it's the shape. the only question that remains in YOUR mind is, will "that" fit between MY buns?

I know this about a creative sandwich & not fruit abuse.

google Alton Brown's show on "Bananas"

i had to correct I deleted

tk: must be the bun...

michelle: I dont think we ever outgrow that 'flavor'

deb: the first comment was better...it does actually show the right size....its just a little bigger than the bun.

I need to google that show...does he make a sandwich? I dont watch too much TV in general...except after around 8-9pm for only a couple hours and now its olympics...wait sometimes I have a chance to watch jeopardy at 7.

I recently came across the peanut butter, banana and honey combo. I like this way of serving it with the banana whole!

This is too funny :)

well your comment made my corrected comment more pertinent. ;)

he made banana ice cream, bananas foster & fried plaintains that I have to make this weekend they were amazing. He also has one about strawberries that was just as fun & informative. I've only caught the sync. diving & Michael Felps with his funny mom.

Christo Gonzales said...

kevin: seriously? what about the pancake?

cynthia: summer brings out a lack of scrupples...

deb: I see every single comment - ever.

har: I think he will need a bigger bun

beth: MONKEY BURGERS... thats my new favorite word...or food or ..whatever....

michelle: NO, I am a much 'older' kid....

Good idea for a sandwich, but I think that banana needs to be circumcised...

wowza--you could give mrs. seinfeld a run for her cooking-for-kids money.

Christo Gonzales said...

anette: that was some pizza thats for sure...

TK: you guys made it that way...to us its just a banana hot dog

tavolini: thats funny because for a minute I thought you meant the woman who plays jerry's mom on the show....

I like pb & banana and hadn't thought about doing it this way. I like to mash the banana and mix in the peanut butter and make a messy but tasty sandwich.

I've had the peanut butter and banana combo but never in a bun. What an interesting twist. I am going to try this one out!

That looks so yummy. Serving this for lunch today. When time permits, I make burger dogs. Just form the the meat into a hot dog shape then cook it in ur usual way. Serve it in a hot dog bun with ur fav trimmings. We like bacon on it.
