So as we hop into summer its all about freshness.
Blueberry and soymilk smoothie, it really can't get any better - with peaches or raspberries it is greatness all the same. My little window boxes gave me these green beans today.
I am going to make verdolagas this evening. These greens are another one of those plants my grandmother taught me to eat. It wasnt until I was an adult that I knew the english word - purslane, for these tasty summer treats. I will post the whole 'verdolaga process' later today.

That video makes me want to go out and buy a pogo stick!
It's Hopalong Cassidy!
I've heard you could eat purslane (another bane of my garden), so I'm looking forward to seeing how your recipe turns out.
Too bad we can't eat bindweed, too.
i found a pogo stick a few years ago and, yes, i'm still damn good at it.
claudia: thats a big favorite around here - I freeze a bunch of skinless bananas and keep them in a zip loc just for that purpose
dana: for who? I tried it and I didnt do a good job...
kitt: purslane is really quite good if you like sauteed vegetables - it has a high sodium content so salting is a minimal thing...
tanyK: this I have got to see...like I said I tried...
I'd kill myself trying to pogo...
he looks like he's having a blast!
That smoothie looks delish!
I left you a comment back on my blog...I was laughing at yours! hehehe.
Dog
I want to see you on the Pogo stick.
Wow, I had not even thought about a smoothie made with soy milk. I bought soy cream this week to try it. I'm going to try to replace all the creamy things I like so much with fat free or low fat.
Do they make a soy milk Ice Cream?
