tomatostravaganza

These guys are random plants that pop up in my window boxes from my living green'composting.'

Because tomatofest is already taken I will be having a tomatostravaganza instead. I ordered some seeds from these guys a couple weeks ago and forgot about it until they arrived. I only purchased what was in the sale area and I forgot for the most part.

Well my seeds arrived, all in the same kind of package save for their name typed on a label on the outside. I have a veritable hot bed of porn stars and gladiators that will be popping up in my garden. With names like Lerica Orange, Black Prince, Nyagous, Eva Purple Ball, Dr. Wyche’s Yellow, Cream Sausage, Early Wonder, Carbon, and last but not least - Black Cherry.

If you dont need a cold shower after reading those names then you need to get yourself checked. I cant wait till Fall to see if there will be any fruits from my labor.

omg...You're too funny! Although, those names are hilarious. But it's going to be exciting to see them start to sprout.

Can't wait to see the results!!

If they do turn out - amazing, and if they don't you can advertise spending your spring and summer with a bunch of porn stars. Either way - win/win.

I don't know if I'll ever be a gardener. Playing in the dirt is so not me. But I love to watch others garden? LOL

very cool! We just put our seedlings in the ground--an exciting time :)

hahahahaha

nice I will have to check out that place. My tomatoes go in this weekend but they are boring: cherry, roma, and brandywine. I tried experimenting with a lot of different varieties and always used the heck out of those 3.

ha ha ha...I'm so jealous! We just moved and I don't know what's in our ground, yet so I probably won't have a veggie garden this year :( Hmmmm, patio tomatoes, maybe.

nice!! I don't have the patience for seeds, but I plan on picking up some small plants this weekend. I can't wait! I did my herbs last weekend and they're already doing fantastically!

Marjie said...

I have a bunch of different varieties to plant this year. I just adore tomatoes! Some yellow, some pink, some plain old red. Just can't wait for those!

Wow! That is a lot of tomato seeds!

The Duo Dishes said...

No one told us you could grow tomatoes in an egg carton!

Christo Gonzales said...

girli: dont be that jealous I still live in NYC - I will need to find some real dirt for these at some point

healthy: it is still easier and cheaper for me to buy tomatoes at the farmers market...but hey...

marjie: you should check out the website at tomatofest - they have good prices and they give a lot of seeds in the pack

bina: even more than you can see

duo: its not easy being green - isnt that what Kermit said - the carton is only for starting them and you have to use the pulp one.

Where ON EARTH did you find these tomatoes? I have never heard of them. But, oh, how fun it would be to see them grow and bear fruits. You need to show us the pictures of the tomatoes after they've been harvested.

Off to the shower ...

Christo Gonzales said...

leela: I googled 'heirloom tomatoes' and this is what I got....it worked me up

burp: caught me by surprise...

5 star: the darker ones and the nyagous are from colder climates - I am experimenting

jamie: one bridge at a time - but I will probably want a BLT of some sort.

I should actually do a post about how I got my ass kicked by some pornographic tomatoes or otherwise known as - that time the six foot six (barefoot) drag queen raked 'her' heels down my leg because I kept calling 'him' well - him.

I brought a tomato from Greece last September, and now there is little green tomatoplants growing by my kitchen window! I love Greek tomatoes! Tomorrow I'm going to Greece again, and eat a lot of them, I hope!
