its a wrap

B
acon wrap that is. If you are ever unsure of what to do in life, in cooking, in anything at all, a wise old guru once told me - wrap it in bacon. Its true once you add bacon it seems like the planets align, Mercury is in Jupiter, the moon gets full, your biorhythms are now keeping the beat, flowers smell prettier and the list goes on and on.

Ever wonder what a kid eats? Well my kid eats good.

This is his salad after he has scarfed a few bites and then 'let me' take a picture of it. (he insists I take pictures of his food, he has me take pictures of his bowl of cereal)

Here he waits for his dinner while nibbling on an asparagus and 'doing something' on his laptop.

Bacon wrapped filets waiting to hit a hot grill pan, we both like them on the rare side, a little salt a little pepper a little sear on both sides and its a wrap!

So when are you going to invite me to dinner? I like my meat rare also.

Of course it's better with bacon. Hence my bacon wrapped meatloaf last week! Contrary to my sons' contentions, however, I don't think cookies would be improved by either bacon or BBQ sauce, which they consider the best things in life.

5 star: under the broiler and quick so the bacon crips and the asparagus stays moist

spin: I mailed out an invite...

marjie: I saw some kind of croissant stuffed with bacon once and chocolate covered bacon...so bacon cookies cant be that far off...your meatloaf was excellent.

beth: we would go raw if wasnt unhealthy...

tavolini: I need to sneak some meat over to Tavo now and again....poor guy.

dawn: Tease? who me?

I'm making little parcels of asparagus wrapped in bacon and roasted for a dinner party tonight. What a coincidence I stumbled past here! Great way to get kids to eat greens :)

I tried an apsargus wrap once in the state BB-Q cook-off.. We loved it, but the judges didn't! Glorious hunk of meat you got!

That asparagus is making my mouth water. We have a local farm that grows it and they make all kinds of yuppie pickled asparagus etc... but they also sell it fresh at the farm. I usually buy several pounds at a time. It should be soon!
