think pink

Himalayan pink salt is the most unique tasting salt this side of the Himalayas, seriously.

Because this salt is unrefined and it is actually a fossilized sea salt it has a lot of minerals in it thus giving it its pink hue.

This salt is a good as gold.

My kids would have a fit about this. I've had colored sea salt and they go ballistic. Of course, you can guess my attitude about their attitude problems, right?

buff: gay sherpa salt?....kidding - dont get me started....this salt tastes great with the carpaccio and olive oil - together the oil and the salt become both spicy and flowery at once.....

I love this salt. Maybe because it's girly pink, too. It's like the Carrie Bradshaw of salt. ;)

Have you ever heard of tea-smoked sea salt? My friend sent me some.

I just got a variety pack for Christmas of very cool salts including this one - they realy do enhance the flavor of meals and I love cooking with them.

What a coincidence! On Iron Chef America tonight one of the chefs used a big slab of that on one of their plates, it was very pretty (even though I'm not sure what it added to the dish flavor-wise)

Are you thinking of the creamy pink shot?

We tried this salt as part of our Chef's table tasting at the Dining room at the Woodlands. The chef had many different salts and recommendations which goes best with each dish. We definitely liked the pink salt.

This weekend, we had hot caramel poured over a big block of pink Himilayan salt, and were given apples and pecans to dip in the caramel.

The caramel got saltier as it hardened!
It was so interesting and definitely very cool!
