gotta gig
Yesterdays cucumber soup and todays puff pastries are all going to assemble themselves at a little event that I have the pleasure of providing appetizers for.
I love when I get to cook for other people and as often as it does happen I wish it happened for every meal (I say that now, what will I do if it ever happens?) The enjoyment I get out of watching the happy and excited faces struggling to decide what to get and then simply deciding that some of each will have to do. This is a relatively small event with about 25 in attendence.
There will be other things like homemade blue chips and salsa and various other crudites and hand foods but those will be made a little closer to delivery time and in addition to these ham and cheese, there will also be a spinach version for the non-meat eaters.

who are you cooking for? Is this the family or a gig? when? where? You should be cooking for me, I want to be there. I can be family or I can be your gig! Feed me doggy :)
snugs: not family - it is a womens event for reflexology and reiki
The pastries look very good! Have a fun cooking weekend!
Yum!!!! Hey, do you have any mole' recipes you want to share?
I wish you were on the 'left' coast - I would so throw gigs your way... as a fundraiser I am always looking for options..
I bet there were lots of happy women at this event. With your cooking and all.
These are beautiful!
Mine never come out like that, they are always so flat!
I am going do double stuff 'em.
Yours are like lavash roll ups!
I am making these next party!
Look great! I could exist on appetizers...
you and 25 women? sounds like trouble :)
5 star: thanks....
zombie: I can come up with some mole things -I will e mail your or you me...
spin: fat and happy....LOL
stace: puff pastry is a little fickle
buff: me too
snugs: I wasnt there - only my food.
I could eat a lot of those dangerous little puff babies with cold champagne. Although a reiki event probably isn't the best place to drink champange at LOL
These look delicious! -e
Lucky women indeed - it all sounds, and looks, delicious!
I hope you don't mind but I've passed on a blog award to you. No obligations, need for acknowledgment, or strings attached - just my way of saying how much I enjoy your work.
Have a delicious weekend!
dawn: oooh I love the cold champagne idea....
emily: welcome - and they are mighty tasty
Diva: I dont mind at all and thank-you very much....
oh gawddddddd. I want some of this Dog. Send some my way!!!!
Can I come along? It's a bit of a trek across the Atlantic but it looks like it would be worth it :)
beth: you could have gone since it was only for women....
spud: pretty short notice for you too but I am sure there would have been enough...
Congratulations. If the food you serve looks half as good as what shows up here on your site, you'll do great! And business grows by word of mouth -- especially businesses that rely on the mouth.
Those pinwheels look awesome, and so does the cucumber soup. Lucky ladies indeed. I love to cook for a crowd!
It all looks so yummy as always...you have really good food porn:)
So round, so charming, and you know how I would eat them? Maybe not so ladylike but, to enjoy them in my weird way, I'd have to eat them 'round and 'round until there was nothing left. I know you don't mind!
Soooooo, can we hire you? :)
Wow...my mouth is watering. I bet the spinach ones are fantastic.
How can you show us those delicouse looking things and NOT give the recipe to us?
Looking good--good color and flavor combination!
wow...looking nibble-icous! YUM
I have made something similar with the cresent roll dough and some peperoni, cheese, and sauce. YUM!
These look amazing!!! We had these at Aimees 18th Birthday, with various fillings, as she is a veggie, we meatless ones for her, but her friends got the ones with the salami etc etc.......YUM!!!
I havent ever seen anyone else make these - we call them pinwheels??? Whatever you call them they are sensational, so many variations and they always work!!
Those pinwheels look delicious! Great idea!
