bust my chops
Saffron is such a fantastic condiment. A little saffron can turn the mundane into the unmundane. There are a few grades of saffron out there that I am aware of and to be honest I only use the cheapest one I can find. This particular saffron or azafran came from the Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico from the Rio Grande Herb Co to be exact and in fact it is not a saffron at all but it sure does look like one!
We are still on the comfort trail so that school nights afford the most of everything so that the school days are a success.
Pork loin sliced thin and cooked fast and hot with pico de gallo, string beans and potatoes with 'saffron' butter. I dont want to spoil you with too many recipes but if you cant figure this one out I dont know what to tell you.

Looks good. I want some pork chops all of the sudden. I think I can figure that dish out. I've beens taring at it pretty long.
I like saffron. I don't use it enough in cooking. There is a Philippine Rice porridge soup that I love cooking it with. Give it an awesome flavor.
Everything looks delicious! I'm scooping up most of that butter with a lot of potato.
oh love this meal great presentation and healthy
Your meal looks so hardy! We had pork chops yesterday but now I want them again! Since saffron is the most expensive spice I'm waiting on getting some:) I'm also waiting on getting some cardamon pods because it's almost $50!
Wow looks so good and ur platter is always gourmet..Everything looks so sos so delicious.
Our comfort food yesterday was pancakes and tomato soup. I think I would rather have had a plate of yours! (No offence to the pancakes)
Looks great- again! A friend came back from a trip to the Holy Land, and gave me a large bag of saffron.. I didn't know until later it was worth about a hundred bucks! I gave most of it away to a chef I know! Very subtle flavor..
Yummm.. I want it for my dinner :)
ve a plate of that right now. Love the grilled marks on the chops!
Nice grill marks and that pico looks fantastic!
Now I'm hungry.
Unmundane.. Is that a word?
Looks good enough to eat from here though DB.. I've gotta go try this one..
Mmmmm. I've never thought to make saffron butter - what a great idea. The chops look mighty tasty too.

Delicious comfort meal!!
Never heard of it. Does it impart any flavor at all?
Your carpachio looked superlative, btw.
Yeah, you don't need a recipe for some things. And you really do need simple and filling for school nights, don't you? Hope Pup's enjoying his new school so far.
I just tried saffron in a shrimp dish not too long ago - and learned that a little goes a long way!
Hope the school year is going well so far!
Your cooking would never let us down......love the 2nd picture most.

i've never cooked with saffron, but i know it tastes good, this looks wonderful!
Saffron butter with potatoes sounds fantastic! I need to work that into a meal soon.
Oh! What a nice plate...the pork chops look so yummie with potatoes and green beans, very colorful :-)
love the combination!! yummm. so colorful :)
"...cooked hot and fast.." nice Dog, nice. The way it should be done.
how bout....think harder! LOL...looks like a delicious meal for a school night :D
You know, it sure would be nice to a whole cooked meal that someone else made. One that didn't contain cheese powder. A little fake saffron might do though.
Beautiful grilling marks. What pan did you use? I use Le Creuset skillet but never get such perfect marks?
I definitely have some room in my life for saffron. Such pretty color!
We still have never cooked w. saffron - can't seem to fork over the money. Gotta do it one of these days though! This looks great!
