Dog, like you, I will never forget. I was not in NYC, and have not returned since, but lives of people connected to me were changed forever that day, because they were there.
Megan was five and we saw it televised that morning. when she saw a plane fly across the sky on the way to kindergarten she asked if it too were going to crash into us. A day to never forget.
Thanks for the reminder, I didn't even realize today was the 11th. I was working at the little department of FAA's Civil Aviation Security at that time, what afterward has become Transportation Security Administration & DHS. It was quite an experience being directly involved in a creation of a brand new government agency.
wow. i was reading this and remembering that day also. as a fellow ny'er i like the quiet kind of rememberance you have posted. what i can't believe is that among your comments that total fucking asshole "jormengrund" posts an asshole comment like that. asshole.
Learning recipes is great, learn technique and its grand. ChezWhat is a virtual bistro with an ever changing menu based on the freshest most unique ingredients of the season. I have a passion for words and food and I love how well they go together, my kitchen explorations are my life and my life is food. Come with me while we experiment with flavors.

I like to remember where I was...
far, far away in Sicily.
All Americans, and many others will be thinking about this today..
Agreed. I tend to feel the same way as you, a quiet honor and rememberance.
When I was in NY, I saw ground zero and I will never forget it.

This tragedy changed all of us.
Nice of you to at least make some kind of "obligatory" sympathy post here Doggy.
If you're a true foodie, where's the BBQ entry?
Or maybe some lesson in smoking meats?
I mean, you choose to be a bit rude and nasty to me, why not have the favor returned?

Very poignant.
very touching, an important reminder
I still remember my visit there, three weeks before it happened. I really treasure the footage I got from there.
It is a day that I'll always remember...the memories of this day still very "alive".
yes, I agree with you....
a few extended moments of silence today....
