When I take a blog break its hard to come back

I may not have been around the blog in a while but that doesnt mean I wasnt slingin' hash. The little trip to Nashville was fun. I got to see some old college friends, one that I see about once a year and another that neither one of has seen in more than 10 years. Oh, and we are all native New Mexicans, yup we are from the Land of Enchantment!

We drank we swam we talked about old times....

(this is the one I see often and I think he is going to do something so I am suspicious)

and we even went honky tonkin'.

Most meals were for about 8 people on average -ages varying- so as a result of that people ended up eating blurry food.

In Tennessee they put the beans on the cornbread and then they put stewed tomatoes on top of that, not my favorite.

What was my favorite was having huevos rancheros with Hatch chile.

We drank so much and even put food in the pool.

I found all kinds of edible mushrooms. (well two kinds at least)

that were added to wild mushrooms I brought

that went into the risotto that we floated in the pool!

OK, I'm going to have to try that pool trick. I'm assuming it only works with certain types of plates.

One of these days, I want to visit that famous diner outside of Nashville.

Does the pool trick only work when you drink? Looks like you had a great time catching-up with an old friends. No doubt that you made new ones too. Thanks for letting me sit in my chair and take the photo journey of your trip with you-

jenn: we had to do something - all the wild mushrooms freaked people out

TW: the mushrooms had no affect on the float factor it was plate all the way...

5 star: it finally paid off - now I will wait for the shipment from my family - local homegrown

mickyT: floating food...

jill: I wont say why I go to your blog but if you could incorporate more pool action I would be obliged!

When we lived in Tennessee, I made certain to specify that my food was never to be piled. Or mingled. Or combined. Glad you had fun.

salut Chezqui, wow that is definitely a fun reunion! Never been to Nashville, you mastered the art of plate floating on the pool by balancing and centering the food right in the middle!
