leftover love

Plates of delight, thats what thanksgiving is and it keeps on giving. I dont start making other things out of the leftovers until I am absolutely tired of eating them as leftovers and sometimes I finish all of it before the pot pies or soups ever get a chance to see the light of day. Turkey tamales are in the plan so lets see how much turkey is left for me to make a few.

Who doesnt like a turkey sandwich with all the goodies tucked inside a nice fresh roll? The kid wanted to skewer a black olive on top of his sandwich and I didnt have any toothpicks so the skewer in this case is a skewer!

This molten pumpkin pie is so easy I can give you the recipe in five easy steps: 1)make pumpkin pie mix in the ordinary way (I had tonka beans so I grated some of that in as well as the regular spices) 2) make a brownie batter in the ordinary way and as a treat toss in some chocolate chunks or chips. 3) pour brownie batter into bottom of a spring form pan, pour pumpkin on top of brownie. 4) bake in a 350 F degree oven in a water bath als0 known as a bain marie (larger pan filled with water in which cake pan is sitting) bake for 30-40 minutes or until pumpkin is set. 5) refrigerate and slice when cool. Thats it - easy right?

Sometimes the leftover party is almost better than the actual meal. Hope you manage to get through them before you get fed up! It was an awfully big bird you had, can I come over for a turkey sandwich?

yep the leftover sammie with the hellmans mayo, not miracle whip is the way to go. I think turkey tamales are very cool.

34 pounds of turkey plus 4 extra legs were gone by last night's dinner. I have a few mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes left. So, can you remind me again - what are leftovers?

That is a plate of pure love, one of those dishes that make me say MMMMM out loud. Brownie pumpkin pie, oh yes.

Oh, leftovers. I think that's the best part of the post Thanksgiving feast. I sure have some leftover duck to make some temptingly delish sammies.

Leftovers are the best part of Thanksgiving, I don't care what anyone says.

Loving the pumpkin-brownie extravaganza, too.

Ironically, my "turkey leftover" post that's coming up I made with turkey leftovers from turkey tamales :) Now, I'm just eating Thanksgiving leftovers as they are too. But maybe I will make something more interesting today.

The best part of Thanksgiving dinner is the leftovers - for sure! I live for those turkey sandwiches. And I usually make a turkey curry when I'm sick and tired of the turkey - but turkey tamales sound like a terrific stop along the way to a curry!

Talk about an original thinker! Your pumpkin creation is a thing of beauty. Turkey tamales are also a great way to go. This is my first visit here and I really like what you've done. I'll be back often.

The one thing about having Thanksgiving at a relative's house is that you don't get a lot of leftovers to take home. Better for the waistline ... but I could go for that molten pumpkin creation. Hope you had a great day.

Sadly, I am eating my leftovers just as they are. But the molten pumpkin cheesecake is making me drool... I wonder if it's too late to make more pumpkin pie?

Officially finished all leftover tonight! However, I'm going to turn back the clock to make this molten pumpkin pie. I'm not much of a pumpkin fan, so perhaps a sweet potato molten pie?
