sugar snaps
Raw, mostly - steamed, sometimes, always sweet always great, so dont forget to eat your peas. Did you know that only lima beans are a better vegetable protein source than peas?
California is the leading producer of peas, which are available year-round. New York, South Carolina, Oregon, Idaho, Texas, New Mexico, Florida, Washington, New Jersey, and Virginia are also pea-producing states. Peas are imported into the United States from Guatemala Mexico, China, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic.
In the mid-1800s, Gregor Mendel's observations of pea pods led to the principles of Mendelian genetics, the foundation of modern genetics.

They're especially good fresh out of the garden. The few times I grew them... not many made it to the kitchen..
My favorite veggie! mmmmmm Fantastic picture as well. Steamed is the way to go.
I'm slightly allergic to them, but steamed, that will work! Love the color and the sweetness!
I like the pods better than the pes!
michelle: I love them hot from the garden the most!
michele: I hear you - peas is good!
anette: HUH? is it all legumes or only peas?
buff: always the different one...
Probably all raw legumes.. but I've not tried all of them out. I love legumes by the way.. except some of them thin green beans (almost hairy) ones.. Thats not my cup of tea!
I have been eating these for the past few days raw...love em!
My favorite taste, right from the garden into my mouth.
I have always loved peas.
What are you making today with your peas? Looking forward to something yummy.

LOL--what is this pea propaganda??
Seriously, though, peas are fantastic. I keep a baggie of frozen ones to throw into pretty much everything :)
anette: so then you must be allergic to peanuts too?
chef e: a handy, tasty snack
micky t: that is by far the best way
stacey: pasta with peas maybe?
tavolini: they make everything pretty - pretty with peas...
You did that whole commercial just for that last line, didn't you?
Well done!!
Great pic...I shall give them a try, you've convinced me!
Side note: I am slowly working my way back into the blogosphere...I can't believe everything I have missed out on...tonight I plan to catch up on all of your entries...can't wait to see the food art you have posted! I missed you!!!
joy: yup....sure did....
harmony: good to see you again....
Did you receive a bribe from the sugar snap peas growers association?
How much did you make?
How informative!
I love them raw:) They are so crunchy and yummy.
