posessed

I feel like I have been kidnapped and replaced with someone that cant figure out the flavors - does that make sense? I made some of the worst food both visually and flavorfully that I have ever made. I tried to eat it, I tried to palm it off on others but there were no takers, not even the cats would touch it.

I started off with the cutest little macaroni shapes ever - little mushrooms or funghi as it said on the package. These little shroomies were a gift from my mushroom hunting buddy and I am glad I only ruined half the bag.

I cooked them up and then went crazy on the cheese sauce. I make mac and cheese all the time - come on I have an 11 year old boy. In fact it is this very same food loving boy that came into the kitchen and asked me what stank. I will tell you what stank - it was some busted irish cheddar cheese that I had tossed into the mix that instantly messed it all up. Bummer! In honor of the circus and the theatre I plated it up and took a picture because the show must go on.........

You know it really doesn't look that bad - you're too hard on yourself. As for the smell, can't vouch for that.

My dad always told me that the best players on the basketball court usually had the most turnovers in a game.(and I don't mean pastries) :)

Maybe that's true in the kitchen too!

Wow those are some delicious and strange looking pastas, loved them, where did u get those from?

As a cheese lover to the point of obsession, I have learned the sharper cheeses do not show well or even taste the same when melted. To sharpen up a cheese dish, I add a shredded sharp cheese (unmelted but room temp.) to top the hot dish.. it tends to melt, without losing much flavor integrity... Have a great trip to Alaska, and a great 4th of July!

We had an incident with a lovely lasagna that was totally ruined by cheese that was too smelly a while ago. It went just horrible when it melted! But the pasta is just wonderful!

The macaroni looks so cute! Sad that the dish didnt turn out good. I agree..cheese forms the culprit most of the times! Have had a similar experience before!
