blogs

Is not the blog a funny thing? You see peoples personalities (or lack of) all transpire in a blog. Some people (a lot of people) like to treat this little piece of the internest as if it was their very own and they lambaste and lord over their domain like it was a fifedom. They tell you what you can and cannot say, they threaten to 'ban' you if you persist, they like to 'expose' themselves thinking its all anonymous, all in all its like a state fair and everyone, I mean EVERYONE is a carny. Every last one of us is out there totin' our unique little carnival wares. Over here in the dogg world we take it as it comes. We have our ups and we try and minimize our downs, and that is our carnival contribution.

We had dim sum the other day in Chinatown and it was mighty tasty, I hardly ever if not never take pictures in restaurants, one its embarrassing and two its pretentious and rude. This contradicts my appreciation for people who take pictures in restaurants. See?! We cannot live without each other, as existential as I think I am I am not.

NYC is not for everyone, nor should it be. NYC is a rough and tumble city that does not give a rats ass about you or your neighbor or your neighbors cousin for that matter. Life goes on as usual here no matter what. Martha Stewart still does her programs, the Food Network keeps on taping, One Life to Live still has one life to live, it just grinds away.

Thoughts? One Carnie to the next? Gimme your slant!

Thoughts - oh yes!!!!

I find it really interesting, it like a grown up version of playground bullying!!! I just think some people take themselves far to seriously - why do some bloggers think they can rule the blogging world? If I say something wrong - then dont read my blog, pure and simple.

I know its not anonymous, the internet is the ultimate "big brother" but I have made some wonderful friends - well I think I have but do we really know? Is everyone who they say they are? Probably not.

I understand that you are saying about NYC, but I dont think that it is alone in its personality. The question is, no matter what city we live in, do we or should we make sure that we care about the human race, care about the neighbours around us, I try to, and this is probably out of pure need, I dont want to think that one day I could die in my house and no one would find me for days.... I am fortunate, I have family, but there are many elderly people around me who do not, I make sure that if I dont see them, I go check, I know that this is probably out of my own need, but I dont want to be one of those people who doesnt care, and yes life goes on, no matter what, its how we choose to live our lives that matters (I am sounding a little bit preachy here, not my intend) basically if you live your life with love and compassion that is all that I feel really matters.

I like where your thoughts have been going lately - very thought provoking!!! :)

Jebus Cripes on His Bicycle! You're in one of your moods, and you are not wrong... If I'm ever consistent and nice, you have my permission to slap me one.. I have never posted a picture of food that wasn't cooked by me hisself! I don't care if it looks like it should, I care you know how it really came out.. Your Bro- The Buf

Exactly .
I want to be the cotton candy booth girl! I miss parts of NY- it is refreshingly direct which I rather appreciate. Although I know my perceived coyness bothers you, IRL I am annoyingly blunt and small on small talk! I do not trust super nice people- always feel like they are hiding something... I do like strong personalities. I'm rather enjoying your blog lately.
I love the dialectic and I love Dim Sum!!

One of my best friends moved to NYC 10 years ago or so, because she wanted to live "where no one cares whether you live or die."

Me? I've been in my town for 43 years. I rather like stepping out in my community of 100,000, and 9/10 time seeing a familiar face.

I'm still shy about photographing my meals in public, and I have to consciously shrug off who's reading my blog. When I can't write because of what someone will think, I'll quit.

mandi: such verbosity (is that how you spell 'you type too fast') Its as we make it and as we perceive it. A bakery in bumfuk is as good as a bakery in neverland, but I bet bumfuk makes more money!

Buffalo: HUH? of course buddy, I will slap you anytime and often dont worry about that...I'm your bud dude, if I wont slap you then who will?

starrlife: dialectic? what do yo mean...

gnightgirl: I wrote so many things in response...I need to edit and think about what I really want to say...I like home towns, I like NY. I am confused!

it IS like middle school..."who's the most popular?" "Whose blog gets the most comments?"

Why can't we all just get along? ;)

At first, it WAS about comments and stuff like that, but I think once you do this a while, and make your own "community" it gets more about the friendships you make and less a popularity contest.

I just saw something on the Today show about a woman who blogs and she and her husband were in a plane crash and were badle burned....her blog friends ahve raised over $100,000 to help cover dr. bills.

That should be what blogging is about.

I don't think I've been banned or blocked...who knows? I have deleted some ridiculous spam comments, but honestly have only had one real comment that ruffled my feathers. (and it was because I was wrong! I hate being wrong!)

If you bully me I will bully back. :) If you are nice to me, I will be nice back. If you make it personal, I will return the favor. If you love me, I will love you. If you disrespect me, I will cut off your balls. ;)

That being said, don't like what I have in my blog, stay the fuck away.

♥ you.

ayamlin: I guess I thought I saw something I didnt see....

kitt: I have been cookin' I just dont have the photos to prove it

beth: that is right - it should be people helping people not people baiting hooks to see what they can snag....I like blogging and bloggers for the most part...

tavolini: oh I have been banned and not once either.....LOL It cracks me up when it happens...people put it out there they should be ready when it comes back is all I have to say....I like NY too but sometimes it is a little challenging...

TanyaK: YOU, I was gonna name names but......

andie: I can do that all day long, how funny would that be - my head on everyones body....

claudia: I ignore, if I dont like it I dont pay it no mind...I dont care what people say just dont 'do' anything to me or mine or I will burst into flames....

♥ you - back at you

Wow, right on... Ok, I am new to the blogging thing, but do not care if there are people out there who are treating this like a contest. I just have things to say, and my walls listen, but do not respond back. So, I will bend over and take it like a...

I also agree with the person who says that 'overly friendly people might have something to hide', but I just happen to be very sincere in my friendly endeavors, and have finely made some wonderful friendships in the NE, because they realize I am just an honest to god southerner who loves to talk about food and wine.

I had to learn when I moved here and marrying a NYC man, no eye contact, lol
