Music

This blog keeps me coming back because of the changing theme song. I love theme songs. I wish I had a theme song and a camera crew that followed me around like Marlo Thomas. I used to wish these things before the web before cell phones, damn I was wishing for this back when they told us that in the ninteys all the cars would be hovercraft. Popular Mechanics was a popular mechanic magazine. Now, though, things are more rooted. We dont seem to be predicting a Sci Fi future anymore, simply advances in existing technology. I bet if you went back to old Omni magazines you would not find mention of the Internet. The internet came out of nowhere, and when it did - it did. Blogs are maybe only three years old at best maybe four for the total originators. So all this being said I want a theme song and camera crew.

so what would your theme song be? wow, I don't know what mine would be....something from the 80's. Maybe old Madonna? Old Prince? I'm gonna have to think about this for a while and get back to ya.

Thanks for the call...you are a sweetheart. I'll call ya back!

An entire generation has grown up always having computers, wireless phones, color T.V., etc. I like to show young people a slide rule I keep, and have them guess what it is!

All: I am guilty, the kid has a phone going on two years now... but thats not my point.

I love technology...it's usually so fun.

Gosh, a theme song and a camera crew does sound like fun.

But, I would think your kid NEEDS a phone. You live in New York City, and he probably rides busses and the subway, and is comfortable going all over the place.

and I DO love me some gorgonzola!! you got me hooked!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my place earlier.
...I want a theme song too now. :)

My theme song would have been the theme from Speed Racer. I'm just kidding. Well, maybe for a few days. Hmmmh...

Both of my (step) kids had cellphones from 13ish on in safe, suburban Ottawa. I would have preferred serrated pinking shears instead, but the schools wouldn't allow it.

what did we all do before the internet? I watched alot of bad TV I think.

I panic if when I think I misplaced my cellphone, I HAVE to have it with me at all times. Silly, cuz I dont get that many calls!

Theme songs...what would your's be? Would it change? Mine would HAVE to change with my mood.

And the mentioning of the future reminds me of the one of the few "rides" I remember from Disney World. I just remember it was about what the future would be like, and pretty much we're all supposed to have pet robots to do everything for us. I'm wondering when the hell mine is going to show up and start cleaning and cooking for me.

dog, why hasn't some woman snatched you up and hidden you away from all of the other women in the world? Huh? Can you answer me that one question?

Love the idea, but I think having music playing in yer head is like a sign of mental illness, isn't it? And puddle jumper's got it right. The tune would have to change with mood. Hell, eventually we'll all have chips implanted, and the music will be a special feature you'll have to pay extra for. They'll hook it to a mood indicator, and the system will choose from different tunes you download and label - play Tool when I'm pissed, Debusy when I'm happy, and things like that. And I'm still waiting for the cars that hover, and the autogyro in the driveway, or the personal rocket pack, like in Lost In Space.
