got my bake on

Motivation has been eluding me lately, I would rather that it alluded to me but such is as it is. Today was a little different and it lit a tiny spark beneath my soggy wet tinder, granted there is no roaring fire but a spunky smokiness is at least a start. Dede Wilson (pronounced DayDay) has a new book coming out called unforgettable desserts and to kick things off there was a little bake along this morning that I was fortunate enough to attend. This was a blast so check out the photos! The Driscoll's berry people were sponsoring this mornings bakings and the berries were, plainly put, fat and juicy and out of this world.

Everything was measured and ready to go, all we had to do was get busy.

We broke up into teams of two and each team made a tasty brown sugar buttermilk snack cake right out of page 33.

I partnered up with Teanna from Spork or Foon and I have to say, in my completely biased way, that ours was the best! So a big thanks to Laura and Chris from the baddish group, Driscoll's berries and Dede Wilson for a morning well spent.
