our regularly scheduled program

Tried to make ciabatta and an effort it was but the kind of effort that creates more insight than pleased results. I winged it through the whole thing relying on recipes I had read and was trying to remember.

It was golden and moist and delicious.

It did not have any large and crispy bubbles of great bread goodness. Oh well maybe next time.

Ciabatta is one of those breads that I want to try making but feel intimated at the thought of doing so.

Homemade ciabatta sounds terrific!

I've made Ciabatta - it was close, but not quite. There's a lot of technique involved to create those big airy cavities that it's supposed to have. Even if you miss, you have freshly baked bread . . . what's to lose?

Ciabatta is on my list of bread to try and make. I'm sure you'll do it next time.

Ciabatta, I haven't the courage to try...heard so many "horror" stories about the making of it ;-) Glad that you tried...next time will work better.

Bread making can be as temperamental as the weather ~ One day it is fair and the next stormy or a day of sunshine. Your efforts still looks good to me.

Golden, moist, delicious - it may not have been ciabatta but it was a success.

Love ciabatta. It's worth trying again with a good recipe! Learning is part of the process, and you've got a great start!

My hat is off to you for attempting! Your ciabatta still looks perfect. Certainly, nothing that a good bottle of wine couln't fix served up with a good cheese, slices of cured meat and your ciabatta.

You're talking to a bread baking failure here. I've made two loaves of whole wheat that were unimpressive. I'm not giving up.
