oh phooey

My camera is still under investigation. Maybe they will fix it, maybe they will replace it, maybe its now really getting me upset. But then why would I need a camera when the internet has everything?

Last night was sushi night. So if you remember the pictures from before then you can visualize the dynamic inside out rolls and the the fantastic pieces of fresh salmon and mackerel, the slivers of cucumber and carrot, the perfectly ripe avocado and we splurged and got wild louisiana shrimp. The wild shrimp is so much different, it is actually sweeter and the flesh is more firm while not firm at the same time, hard to explain but the flavor is exactly the flavor you want shrimp to be. Two types of Sake, an unfiltered one, called a Nigori Sake which was excellent and a dry one which was normal and really good as well. Only problem is that everytime I make sushi I get a little better and a little more creative so the most recent one is always better than the one before. It looked a lot like this except more like enough for three. I dont think I could ever leave New York, I have become so accustomed to the food selection that living somewhere with out the variety would make me insane.

I also picked up two pounds of shark, yup the little guy saw shark and had to have some, it is such a different texture than other fish, it is like the density of a really good crabcake or something like that. And I once told the guy that you become the food you eat, for example if you eat goat then you are springy and jumpy like a goat, so after he ate the shark last night he became aggressive and forceful, usually it is funny but he got so mean tempered it was almost too much. The upside, he HAD to take a bath, yup he told me he HAD to take a bath, too cute huh?

"I picked up two pounds of shark". Okay, that cracks me up. Only in NY, huh? I love Sushi. A new place went in our town that is fabulous. Helps that we are in a fishing town. NYC has everything, I could see the draw. (I am coming when my friend gets his next consulting job there, I cant wait!)

Sushi...ewww. But it would be interesting to taste shark. Was the shark a celebration of shark week?

I don't eat raw fish, only cooked, but I sure know about those wild Louisiana shrimp! My best friend lives there, so I go out and visit a lot, man do I love the shrimp and lobster, and sweet tea, along with the fried green tomatoes and hush puppies!

Shark is excellent for grilling! It actually has become more scarce in the marketplace around here from its' popularity!

Evalinn: The aggression is still on going until the next protien replacement.

Stepping: But you have these fishes as well in your new england fishing town. I hope you all come here soon.

Stephanie: No and whats wth the "ewww" it isnt bad once you try it.

LW: I always think of Bubba Gump. It cracks me up and makes me want to cry all at once.

Buffalo: I dont uusally get it that much because I think it stinks (ie smells bad) no matter if I caught it or its in the market.

AKA: glad to see you each and every tme... and I just love the eel but its a whole unique process that I have not learned yet, I barely experiment with crunchy salmon skin.

Pinknest: the kid is 9 we are in all kinds of water - a lot - so of course we freak about sharks - but only when we watch it on TV.

I broke down and had sushi last night too! It was a lobster roll with seaweed, avocado and various veggies. I also had crunchy spicy tuna. None of which was on my diet approved list.

How cute is he....he HAS to take a bath...you know sharks can't stay out of the water for very long.

You know, I've never even had a desire to try sushi, but every time you post about it, it gives me a little bit more desire to try it.
