hot cakes, flap jacks, johnny cakes

Call these cakes what ever you want I call them good, cliche its true but you show me something better. Carb loading is what every athlete does before any big event. Carbs are good for you if you understand them.

We use carbs for our best ability.

Camelina seed pancakes, wild rice pancakes and sesame seed pancakes.

Serve the cakes up with some citrus syrup and you balanced the scale, you used carbs the right way.

I love the seedy things on top to add texture and additional interest and I like the idea of citrus rather than overly sweet syrups.

I'm not a pancake eater, but your photos are fabulous as always! ;)

I keep waffle batter in the house for anyone who wants carbs for breakfast. Nothing like them.

Who says carbs are bad? meh! I've not heard of camelina seeds before, what purpose do they serve? Johnny cakes are usually made of corn, I've never had them! Yum!

I'm no athlete but I am a huge proponent of carb-loading. Bring on those wild rice pancakes!

Don't tell me! Are those chocolate shavings on a pancake? Oooh I want that one! I don't make these babies often enough. My son just called me from New Orleans asking me to post a pancake recipe so he can make them for the house. Now you just got me going!
