I won!

The only winner yesterday was me, well not just me but it sounds better to say it like that. I dont watch sports much but I do watch finals of sports and yesterday was one of those days. Now since I dont watch all season long I have no clue who or what anyone can or cannot do and I pick my favorite team in a very subjective and random way. I cant really explain what my method is for choosing a favorite team but let me tell you that the two I picked yesterday both lost.

Even though my teams lost I was the winner with the salmon and cream cheese pinwheels that I made for my guests to nosh on while my teams got thrashed. I spread a little cream cheese on some puff pastry, then I scattered some sliced green onion and some nice coho salmon.

Rolled up and cut into discs and placed in a 400F oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden and perfect.

These pinwheels were easy to make and thankfully so since I could barely keep up with the demand. Now while my teams did score and while they did give a good fight - they didnt win - I won with my easy to make and easy to bake salmon pinwheels.

These little handfuls were chock full of salmon and chock full of flavor - touchdowns, extra points and two minute warnings all rolled into one tasty bite.

So it sounds to me like you are in complete denial that your teams sucked but this is your way of still feeling victorious!!! How is that steak and chocolate cake coming along for Beth? You are so funny..but the pinwheels do look yummy..

This looks delicious! I love that all of the filling cannot fall out either, it's safely baked in there. I hate when football watching guests leave and the dog goes crazy finding bits and pieces of food and I have to drag out the vacuum for fear of ants and bugs. This would help w/ that problem.

oh SHOOT!!!! next time I'm coming to YOUR house for the game!!! Maybe the Super Bowl?..but I DO come with lots of men, so be prepared!!!

looks good, I'll try this...minus the salmon of course.

You take "sports grub" to a whole new level.

I picked Peyton Manning because he was a nice guy at UT when we lived there. Other than that, I wander through the room looking for "Long Hair #11" or some other random guy. Then I "vote" for the team with the "cutest outfits". I know how to drive my guys nuts! But since I cook, they put up with it.

And we don't follow the season, either. Too much confusion.

teresa: sounds good

christina: the only way they would have been better is they were a hot pocket...LOL

beth: yeah do do come with your own team thats for sure...

TW: gourmet grub...LOL

marjie: I choose in some equally unmasculine way as well - I go for Team mascot and color...

Wow, those pin wheels looked amazing. I can see why they were disappearing. Pinwheels are a great appetizers because you can make such a variety of them to share with your friends and family.
This is a definite keeper!

The Vikings lost. A local pizza place offered free pizza as consolation and now, we get your salmon and cream cheese pinwheels. Foodwise, I feel like a winner, too!

Totally wholly truly completely seriously crazily DELICIOUS! I am a sucker for savoury pastries!

Congratulations! (Since you won)The wheels looks like winners too! I join Marjie's club as it is my job to feed the sport supporters at our house, and to come out with comments like she does!

I am coming over to your place to watch football. I don't really watch sports either (especially not football, which I can't comprehend for the life of me) so I usually just go with gut instinct (i.e. whichever team's uniforms I like the most) when determining who to root for.

These look amazing! I bet the filling would also make for a great savory kind of "cinnamon" roll.

These little goodies would be perfect for Super Bowl. You're a winner in my book any day.

Better football fare than what I had...I can't even remember what I had. I was crying in my wine when Favre didn't win.

omg these look fabulous! I have no idea how many of your posts I've missed. Something happened last week where several of my RSS email feeds have failed. I became suspicious when I hadn't seen posts from you and a couple others! I just realized it today and I'm not happy. I need one of those pinwheels to calm me down. :-)

These remind me of the "paneer and capsicum" rolls that we used to eat as kids!!
