makin' whoopie
Remember last year when I made moonpies? Well try and think back, I know it seems like a long time ago but it was really only a couple of weeks. As it turns out moonpies and whoopie pies are basically the same thing, is that a synonym, homonym or antonym? Since I am basically never quelled with the run of the mill I thought I would reverse the whole deal and, quite frankly, I think these are more of a 'moon' pie.
Make a little blonde cookie/cake batter.
Bake the blonde batter.
Let the blonde cookies cool.
Fill the blonde cookies with a nutella, chocolate, cream cheese frosting and stand guard unless you want to see them disappear in seconds.
You would think I was done with all of this festive baking after the holidays but here at ChezWhat the cooking, baking, shopping is never done and cross my heart and hope to die I hope it never ends!

yummmmm Nutello
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm delicious treat... wish to have one.
Ah, yum!
I'm no big fan of chocolate flavored foods, although I could seriously live on good chocolate, so these look like a great alternative!
Nice snack, and a good idea!
I love your blog.
That is all.

Nice one, now give me some!
Nutella chocolate cream cheese filling? That sounds amazing.
I'm going to have to buy and try some of this Nutella. Never had it. Thanks Doggie
NUTELLA!!!!!!!!!
you know, I haven't had any breakfast yet and after I see your post I hear my stomach crumble.
The best part is taking a big bite and trying to catch the filling on the other side. That has to help you burn at least 0.5 calories while you're eating, right?
These look great! I'm sure your kids are happy and bouncing off the walls!
(One can hope)your guarding them for me! Divine little treats!
I don't care what they are called, can you just send me a few? They look heavenly!
oh yum, love your blog its a lot of fun
How interesting ....I just saw this little baking pan at Williams and Sonoma for making moon pies...apparently the new hip thing...but yours look much more appealing in that wabi-sabi way
Oh delicious whoooooooopie pie -- why aren't in my hand right now?
These cookies look delicious to me. Would be great to make and share with friends over coffee.
Yum! I love moon pies. There one of my favorites :) Whoopie pies are equally delicious as well. Now I feel the urge to try and make a whoopie pie...

Love me some moonpies! Trailer Park in Chelsea had them on the menu...not homemade, though. Did you read that article in The Times awhile back about the resurgence of the moonpie?
these look delicious!!
These are brilliant. I must make these soon.
I like the chocolate filling better.
Blondies Whoopie! And how cool with Nutella!
I'm going to make the blond pies with PB frosting!! Oh yes! OMG! I could do hearts for V-day!!!
Anything with Nutella has to be good, right? From the looks of other's comments, they must think the same thing.
Sam
how did you manage to resist eating those whoopie cakes while waiting for them to cool? I have the worst time with that!
Ooh...nutella in those sounds just perfect. Yum!
