Fried Green Tomatoes

When you have way too many what do you do?




I forgot to photograph the napoleans I made with these by layering them with basil and mozzarella and ricota cheese mixed with nasturtium flowers and then drizzled with marinara sauce.

You can never have too many fried green tomatoes!
The first time I ever ate them was in Louisiana, where my best girlfriend lives.
I think I could eat 20 pounds of them a day!
They are soooooooooo good!

I had never had these before, and my son tried them at his friends house. Loved them...so he came home and made some for me! YUM!

I have a new obsession.

You fry them of course. Then there is the delicious tomato sandwich, marinated them in wine vinegar & herbs, enjoy them with fresh mozzarella and the list goes on.

Your blog always makes the lady hungry!

beth: good, right? I had em once as a kid and thought the unripe tomato was too tart.

You had a great thing going there until you got to the drizzling with marinara sauce. That's an affront to my Southern sensibilities. ha. But you can't go wrong with a fried green tomato.
