meet my meat

I cant remember ever not liking my steak rare.

In fact I like it raw, but that isnt always the best idea, so a little brown on the outside and pink in the middle is the safest way to go as unsafe as it is.

Porterhouse steak with truffle butter a jacket potato, and some mixed veggies make this a meal with a side salad that includes fresh sliced red onion.

This steak was so tender and aged perfectly that you literally did not need a knife to cut it. Have a safe and happy 4th of July my fellow Americans.

Every dish looks lovely. I'm kind of a carpaccio girl myself :) Have a great holiday weekend.

It's beautiful. I'm headed to Newburgh for a cruise on the Hudson on Friday to kick off the weekend. Happy Independence Day, Dog!

I'm thinkin you've got an inside track. Those hot pink onions match Kelly Rippa's hot pink blouse. I'm really wanting a steak, this weekend for sure. Medium please.

The photo of that red onion would be gorgeous blown up and framed.

That red onion is so pretty.

Glad you're doing the 4th right in all of it's typically American artery clogging meat-filled glory! Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Absolutely, every step of the way here. I love very rare meat, slices of sweet raw onion and that little pat of truffle butter just tops it off perfectly!

yeah onion & some mushrooms (sauted) go very well with steak.
i can't eat mine too rare, but i must admit i need a sauce, since i am a sauce junkie, no not A1 crap.

Happy 4th! Since I have moved to France, I have grown to love my steaks really rare. Charred outside, red inside. Perfect! Also love steak tartare (not ground beef, please, but cut into chunks). With a side of frites, bien sur! Your steak actually looks perfect! Mmmm. Now I can't wait to barbecue when I'm in the States this summer! Steak!

I love my steak rare! In fact to be completely honest I could probably eat it raw...I know...gross. However, I hate pink hamburger. I like my hamburger to be well done or I can't eat it.

Beautiful red onion photo.....I had to stare and figure out what it was.
Porterhouse is my favorite cut, and with truffle butter! Delicious! (make mine medium, please).

Perfect American meal! Truffle butter is awesome-did you age the steak or did you buy it aged?
