thermal dynamics

The only way to get good food done fast is with a pressure cooker and I use it a lot. Some people say it isnt the same as slow simmering but I disagree and I disagree because I am so bad at slow simmering, instead of one hour I let it go for three so the whole effect is lost on the affect, or vice versa. With the pressure cooker I am on point, I know that within a few minutes its good to go. Today the kid asked for beef stew at 4:00 pm and he wants the meat to fall apart "like it always does" so since he likes to eat at 6:00 the only option is the pressure cooker.

Stay tuned as it is cooling down now...but I wanted to start this post before 6:00pm

As a result of the thermal pressure the quantum
physical nature of the ingredients are altered to
create "stew"...It would be wise to remember
that pressure cookers are dangerous
and while you may not get a nuclear reaction
you wouldnt want some carelessness to create
an unwanted taste explosion...

now for the test.

It should be good to know that I had to stop at the store and cooking
didnt begin until 5:20.

"tow up from the flo up" thats the only way to describe
how this was demolished and right now it is 6:34pm...
and yeah we eat tons of butter......

Someday I'll have to tell you about the time my old roomie opened the pressure cooker without letting it depressurize first. Scared us to death, causing only 2nd degree burns.

Check out the Magefese pressure cookers. These clamp the lid on with a handscrew. Expensive, though.

I've got a good one, I've got a good book on the subject, and I've got good intentions of using it more than the once in 3 yrs I have so far! This post may shove me towards it faster. Way to work the scienific terms in!

My grandma always cooked witha pressure cooker...I miss that. I'm too chicken to use one.

And it's snowing like crazy here! YUK!

I have always been afraid of them--isn't that bad? They do cook beans so quickly, though! (and stew)

Will have to overcome irrational fear...

I've never used a pressure cooker before. i don't even own one. Maybe I need to ask Santa for one this year. Sounds like something I would love to use!

FHB: and it could

Jason: my dad blew one up when I was a kid

Buffalo: so, then use it. once you start you just cant stop and this is all I could come up with to use the "terms" in such short notice....LOL

Pinknest: its only dangerous if you tamper with it

Tavolini: beans soft and tender faster than you can say jack rabbit.

Beth: snow....oh no....

Chels: get one and you will love it...

Snow: I like carrots and varietal potatoes and marrow bones.

Judi, AKA mom, has used this contraption for years. It does make the food tender and delicious.Even if it sounds like a mini explosion in the making.

Having a small city kitchen [read: no room!] dissaudes me from having all the cookery ware I covet, including a pressure cooker, juicer, dehydrator and espresso machine. Oh, and a banana hanger, too.
